“My husband finally agreed to come in after years of me asking. Dr. Press was patient with both of us and showed me how to clean and care for the hearing aids too. He wears them every day now, and we can watch TV at a normal volume again.”

Meet Your Pittsburg, KS Audiologist

Every appointment in Pittsburg is with Dr. Jordan Press, Au.D., the audiologist who owns the practice. He does your hearing testing in a sound-treated booth, then walks you through the results in plain language before talking about any next step. If hearing aids make sense for your hearing loss, he fits Phonak, Oticon, and Widex models and handles the follow-up visits himself. Crawford County patients from Frontenac, Girard, and Arma come here for personalized care.

Pittsburg Office Questions

What patients ask before a first visit to our S Tucker St. office: where to find us, when we are open, what the first visit involves, and the towns we serve.

Our main office is inside the Pittsburg Medical Complex at 2401 S Tucker St., Suite 3, Pittsburg, KS 66762. The office is wheelchair accessible. It is our home base and the office we are open at most often. Patients come to us from all over Crawford County, including Frontenac, Girard, and Arma, and from around the Four-State Area. Tap the directions button above for turn-by-turn navigation. You can also call (620) 235-5015 and we will help you find us. If Fort Scott is closer to home, our Fort Scott office uses the same phone number.

Yes. We see patients by appointment only, which gives Dr. Press time for thorough hearing testing and for questions about your hearing health, without rushing. The Pittsburg office is open Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:30 AM to 5:00 PM. To schedule, call (620) 235-5015, or request an appointment online and we will call you back to find a time that works. If a hearing aid stops working between visits, tell us when you call. We will do our best to get you in quickly.

Your first visit starts with a conversation about what you are noticing and where listening is hardest. Then Dr. Press runs a hearing evaluation in a sound-treated booth. The results are plotted on a chart called an audiogram, which shows whether you have hearing loss and, if so, its type, degree, and pattern, including whether the middle ear may be part of the problem. He goes over every result with you in plain language. If hearing aids are the right hearing loss treatment, he explains your options at a range of prices. If they won't help yet, he will tell you that too. Bringing a spouse or family member along is always welcome.

Yes. Many of our Pittsburg patients drive in from Joplin, Columbus, and other towns around the Four-State Area. Some want a Doctor of Audiology looking after their hearing health rather than a hearing aid store, with comprehensive evaluations before any recommendation. Others want one audiologist who handles their hearing testing and then fits and follows up on their hearing aids. Our fittings use Phonak, Oticon, and Widex devices, and follow-up care is included. That way, the trips back for adjustments are part of the plan from the start. Call (620) 235-5015 and we will find a Tuesday or Thursday that fits your schedule.
